Planning For Trailers – Spirited Away

Spirited Away

In the production of putting together a mixture of sound effects and voice overs in the trailer spirited away i came across some difficulties finding the right loops and music made via the piano to fit the genre criteria for the animation.

Week 1

In the start of the project we was asked to pick a film trailer of our choice, giving the skills we learn over the term we was asked to incorporate our own creative ideas into covering the sound aspect of the trailer so i began to Experiment with sounds and different voice overs that had a connection with the chosen animation i had picked and also watching different animation trailers to gain inspiration and relevance to exactly pinpoint the type of music needed for the animation.

Week 2

After watching my chosen trailer i brought together a bunch of ideas that i felt was relevant to my objective after brainstorming and documenting my ideas I had to find and record the right sounds to fit different parts of the trailer using recording equipment (microphone)  while putting together a script for the audio aspect of my trailer.

Week 3

Subsequently finishing my script that i wrote for my animation, using a professional dynamic vocal microphone i came together with my chosen narrator and recorded the voice over.

Week 4

Started to put the sound effects into their designated area place

Week 5

Finalised the sounds that will be used in the different areas of the trailer also finalised the recording of the voice over.

Week 6

Using logic pro i was advised to add additional effects to the special effects and voice over to bring it to life as i found it dull. for example for the voice over i used a type of sound effect that allows me to alter the sound of the voice making it echo and more intriguing.
